Today we met up with the wonderful Brown family again, this time up in Nederland. Levi and I went for a two hour mountain bike ride while Jake and Xander first ran on the dirt road (once again, yeah for the chariot!), and then met up with Sarah and Leah to hike the trails. We celebrated a successful morning with ice cream for lunch! The high-country is especially beautiful after a wet spring and summer, with flowers everywhere. Really it was terrible... the flowers kept distracting me from riding well, or perhaps that is the 12 months I've been off my bike? Luckily, Levi was pretty understanding, and very encouraging!
One other thing was a little rusty... remembering to take the garage door opener down from the car's sun viser... we ran the bike into the garage again... ouch! Luckily, it was at very low speed and nothing seems broken, just a few new scratches on the bike and car to add to our collection.

now that I have a rack on my car i'm afraid of the same thing. I only open the sunroof when I have (a) bike/s so hopefully that will remind me..... so far, so good. we'll see.
