Well, 2 PM has come and gone. Things are still moving very ... very slowly. Erin is on pitocin now to try to get this moving. They are increasing the dosage slowly, so we are going to be at this a lot longer. Hopefully tonight, maybe tomorrow morning. I'm tired, I can't imagine how she feels. She's sleeping now. Baby is doing great, very healthy, just not ready for the big scary world yet I guess.

Jake, the pitocin will make her very uncomfortable, yes, even more uncomfortable. Be patient. Remember to get something to eat and rest as much as you can. It is worth it in the end.

Thanks for the updates! This is awesome from our view of the event and probably very disruptive from yours.
ReplyDeletedad is right - pit won't make it easier... it will likely make her want the epidural more, which is fine.... but yes, 48 hours of labor is normal, perfectly normal - it happens much more often then fast labors. Hang in there -Katie
ReplyDeleteDarlings - I'm waiting with bated breath -just got back from dinner with Juli and Linda at the Outback - we're holding tight - can't imagine how you must be feeling - but know, my darling son that you are both in our (and many people's) prayers!
