...For about 1 minute. Then they got up to run around and play, or in Xander's case, ride his bike. They both spent a long time in the street with the other kids and really enjoyed being the "center" of so much attention!
Once the parade actually started the kids really got into it. Xander wasn't so certain about the big bear, but Maya was looking to pick up moves from the dance party.
It had been an incredibly dry summer in the mountains, but it was finally starting to rain a bit, which we didn't mind, they really needed it! Xander of course wasn't concerned about a little bit of wet, he still wanted to ride his bike. Maya played with the strider, but decided she wasn't really all that interested in riding.
Of course, it wouldn't be a summer trip to CB without heading to the dirt jumps in town for a little while. Here's Xander, tearing it up and Maya looking for opportunities to play in the dirt.
The next day we headed out for a hike toward west maroon pass. The trail climbs gently through a beautiful meadow. Since it's been so dry, the wild flowers were not out in full force, but they were still peaking out here and there, and it was beautiful.
Xander and Maya were great little hikers.
At the end the sun even came out for us and we spent a bit of time relaxing in the sunshine.
