Xander had his 2 month birthday checkup at the doctors, and weighed in at a healthy 12 lbs, 10 ounces and 23.5 inches long. For those of you wicked souls that were voting for 15 lbs, sorry to disappoint you! He is a big boy, one that loves his mama lattes, and one that is likely about to have another growth spurt, if his recent eating habits are any indication, but 15 lbs?
He's now firmly in the 75th %ile for Length, Weight and Head, which is a lot less scary to us than the 95th %ile. Doc said that that measurement at 1 month was likely an "overstretch" in what is a pretty subjective measurement.
It was also Jake and Erin's 9 year wedding anniversary. For those of you keeping dual count, that means we've been together now for almost 14 years. Wow!! We asked the Browns to babysit Xander so we could have a bonafide date-night with dinner and a movie. I must say, the highlight of the evening was realizing that as the movie ended, our first thought was to say "what time is it? what time did we say we'd be back?" and realize that in hilarious deja vous, we'd given ourselves a curfew for our baby, just like newly dating couples get curfews from their parents. Belly laughs ensued!
The second best part of the evening was coming home to the story of poor little innocent unsuspecting Xander and Leah the great terrible heartbreaking binky thief! Sarah was even able to catch her red handed!
Leah lulling the boy into friendship
The snatch!

Hi darlin's - meant all day to call you to wish you a happy anniversary and time got away from me - mea culpa, and I'm sorry. I'm glad you had a happy time. I can't believe you'll be here day after tomorrow, I can't wait to see you. Incidentally, I have the picture of Xander sitting on the cliff "all by his little ole' self" as my screen saver at work - it gets lots of admiring comments and makes me smile every time I see it!
