We must be running a marathon...

Because we've been hitting a lot of milestones lately!

Xander has learned to climb in and out of his crib.  Every once in awhile he decides that he desperately wants help (and of course promptly says "NO HELP! XANDER DO IT!") but he does think it is a ton of fun.  We still have him in his crib at night until he decides to start getting out after bedtime, but I think the days are numbered.

Maya has learned how to roll over.  In fact, she has been doing this every once in awhile since birth, but yesterday when she decided to do this, she wanted to make sure I knew she really had it down- she rolled tummy to back, both toward the left and right, no less than 8 times in a row, allowing me to capture it in both video and photo.  Way to Go Maya!  Oh yes, and just a continuation of what seems to be an "anything you can do I can do better/faster/sooner", Maya can say she rolled over at least 2 full weeks before her big brother!

Maya is getting really good at standing and we expect her to be an early walker at this rate...

And Xander is officially potty training!  (No photos necessary!)

A week in the life of the Lewis's

Pretty Maya

Dude, You're going to have to come to me- I'm stuck.

Not quite as cool as the forts Mom and Dad made as a kid, but a whole lot easier to build and put away

 Xander, Hamming it up

 Best Game Ever!!

Jake's father, Jack, surprised us by sending Jake's old trucks.  Jake was thrilled and these have quickly become Xander's absolute coolest toys.  Jake and Xander have spent hours together with these already!

Oh yeah... and the boxes they came in weren't too bad either!

  Oh heck, why not?

I'd like to say that this was done while having an amazing offroad adventure... and it was, sorta.  I came home from Michigan super late on Saturday night and was almost home when I saw a guy who'd veered off the road and was mired in mud... I went to "save him" only to get stuck myself!!  In this monster of a Jeep!  The poor stranger, a young man, had AAA on the way but insisted on helping to push me out of the mud...  I'll leave it to your vivid imagination just how muddy he got, but it will haunt me on my death bed.  I'm sure he was glad for the "rescue."

Coming home with dry ice means fun science experiment time!

 Happy Boy

Xander thinks feeding Maya is really fun...Maya doesn't always agree.

 Maya and Anora Brown, BFFs

Mom, I love my Elmo PJ's, but this Helmet?  Lame.
Xander's getting pretty good at coasting on his bike- he's hard to keep up with!

What do you suppose she's dreaming about?

Lewis Family Photo May 2011

It's a lot harder these days to get a great family photo

You'd be amazed at how many photos had faces like this one in it... mostly Xander's!

Shits and Giggles

What's a girl gotta do to get a warm bath around here?

Ahhh, that's better!

Happy 12 week Birthday Maya

When She Smiles

Little Miss Maya is learning how to smile and charm her mommy and daddy already.  She has gotten so much more alert and aware in the last few weeks, she has made that transition from cuddly lump to itty bitty person.  So much fun!

Who's that pretty girl?

Maya enjoys time in the swing, but I think more than anything she likes looking at herself in the mirror.  Who is that gorgeous girl looking at me?

Dad and his Girl

Life is awfully busy these days, so I feel pretty lucky when I get special time with the little girl.  Sometimes it is cuddle time, sometimes play time and sometime its just a nice afternoon together sitting under the shade tree reading a book and napping.  No matter what, its pretty great.
